Giveaway Winner and a Dilemma

Sorry for the lack of posting yesterday.  It was a crazy day.  I don't even know where to start, so let's get with what I know you all want to know... WHO WON MY FIRST GIVEAWAY??  Well, according to random.org, it was comment #6.

"The Zhush said... Great giveaway...would use it on some cookware!"  Zhush, please give me your email address and CSN will send you your $40 gift certificate!!

My day yesterday started out with breakfast and my current read:

Bear naked granola, (my favorite granola ever,) strawberries, and cinnamon raisin Ezekial bread topped with cashew butter.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm not way into nut butters.  I never even heard of almond and cashew butter till I started reading other food blogs, but I don't find them to be sent straight from heaven in a jar.  Sorry to all the other food bloggers, can I still be part of the club?  I do love green monsters.  There, that got me back in.

After breakfast I went to church.  I am happy to say that I enjoy going to church, and I think I will stick with it.  After church was this fabulous salad that I just HAVE to share.

This is spinach, half a zucchini, a mango, an avocado, and feta cheese.  I drizzled some olive oil on top, but to be honest it didn't even need anything.  It was great on its own.

I laid around most of the afternoon and evening, and at around 9:00 J came in from the balcony and told me that there was a dog running around unattended in the dog park.  I had seen that dog down there about 2 hours earlier, so I went down to check it out.  Someone had found it running around and locked it in there with a note.  It was a small dog, probably 30 pounds at the most, and super friendly.  Our neighbor works at Molly's vet, so she went and got a crate and a microchip scanner, and J and I got some food and sat with him.  Bad plan.  We totally fell in love with him.  He is the sweetest dog ever, so affectionate and loving.  I could just tell he was grateful for the food and water and he wanted to just be around us, touching us and playing and licking.  So, long story short, the owners were found and admitted he had run away, but they were unable to take care of him anyway.  He is a free agent.  Perfect, so we just adopt him, right?  Well yeah.. except you forget that we already own a mountain lion named Molly.

I like to match my pets to the apartment.

Molly is about 3 times the size of the little dog, and 75 times as bitchy.  This is not a friendly dog.  Every dog she sees immediately becomes target practice.  Well, she tries.  I'm stronger than her, a fact that frustrates her to no end.  Its not for lack of trying on her part that there are no dead dogs in the complex yet.  But here is the glimmer of hope:  when Molly was a puppy, she lived with another dog.  They lived in perfect harmony, playing and living life and watching the sunset at night together.  And she currently has a shaky good realtionship with the cat.  Both dogs are high energy and like to play.  If they can channel that into liking each other and NOT into killing each other, this could be one happy household.  I don't know what to do.  I have a soft spot for strays, hence how I got Molly to begin with.  The owner was going to drown her because she wasn't purebred.  I knew I had to have her.  And now I have to have this other dog.  The vet has a bunch of suggestions on how to get them together, so if J gives the green light, we will start tomorrow.

Someone please tell me this isn't the dumbest thing I've ever done.

Thirty pounds is small? Mine weigh like five pounds each. Okay, not mine. Grace's. Cause I refuse to take care of them because they piss me off. And, just because NJ and I bought them cute matching collars and leashes and we sometimes look for clothes small enough to fit them, it doesn't mean I like them or that they're mine.

Candance: 30 pounds is small when you put it in perspective of Molly... who weighs 90 pounds :)

You love the dogs. Admit it.

Although I can't understand how anyone could find anything wrong with nut butters (whoa, that was only a bit dramatic...), you definitely made up for it my saying you like green monsters!
